For the second year in a row, one of our high school welding students from the Wautoma School District as part of a dual credit partnership will be moving on to the National Skills USA competition after placing first in the State event for Welding Sculpture. Congratulations to senior Olivia Arreola and her FVTC instructor, Jessie Lloyd, for the outstanding effort and wonderful success. And all the best at the Skills USA nationals!
Stopped by to join our partners from Miller Electric Mfg. Company in touring our newly expanded metal fabrication, welding, metallurgy and robotic welding labs at the Appleton campus last week.
One of our students working in a robotic welding cell that morning summed it up best…“Now we can work 100% on learning these skills as opposed to four students sharing a cell.” There’s now room and capacity in this facility to support more students and better prepare them for high-tech manufacturing careers. Our staff did a great job with this expansion project!
