This week was “education day” for both the Leadership Oshkosh and Leadership Fox Cities groups, and I had the opportunity to interact with both. It was a pleasure to offer some welcome remarks to Leadership Fox Cities as the group spent about a half day at the Appleton Campus getting a firsthand look at several of our technical programs.
In Oshkosh, some participants toured our Oshkosh facilities, and I was honored to be part of an educational leadership panel along with the District Administrator for the Oshkosh Public School District, Stan Mack, and Chancellor Andy Leavitt of UW-Oshkosh.
It is always so refreshing to spend time with new and emerging leaders in our communities—they really represent the future. It’s also great to help them understand new perspectives on education at all levels and hear their insightful questions and views from a community standpoint.
I really applaud the Chambers of Commerce in both of these communities for organizing and delivering top-notch community leadership programs each year. We very much appreciate having Fox Valley Technical College included in the “education day” activities and experiences given the vital role we play here in the region.
