Stopped by to join our partners from Miller Electric Mfg. Company in touring our newly expanded metal fabrication, welding, metallurgy and robotic welding labs at the Appleton campus last week.
One of our students working in a robotic welding cell that morning summed it up best…“Now we can work 100% on learning these skills as opposed to four students sharing a cell.” There’s now room and capacity in this facility to support more students and better prepare them for high-tech manufacturing careers. Our staff did a great job with this expansion project!
Leaders from Miller Electric Mfg. Co. joined us for a tour of our expanded Appleton welding lab and new technologies.
Welding student Kobi Langenhuizen showed us how the Miller ® LiveArc ™ Workstation enhances training.
Welding student Cole Warzynski tests an automated application on a robotic welder in our new Appleton lab.
Our newly expanded Veterans Resource Center held an open house this past week in celebration of Veterans Day. Both internal and external visitors toured the new center and met our Veterans Services staff to learn how the college is currently serving nearly 800 student veterans. The event included a special visit by Daniel Buttery, assistant deputy secretary with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.
